Corner Bed Room ReDo

Years ago we realized the need for storage space and redesigned Betty's Closet.  

We had some really pretty pine furniture in the corner bed room but it was built with style in mind rather than effeciency.   There was a queen bed, chest of drawers and night table which left very little room to move around.   So I designed the same pieces but with an eye toward storage and economy of floor space.  

The chest of drawers had a lot of space wasted on it's sides and behind the drawers.   I came up with a smaller and slightly shorter (not as tall) frame that acutally had more total volume in the drawers.    

The bed was a queen size but with a massive frame which consumed most of the floor space.   Since we rarely have over-night visitors and only one person at a time, we decidd to go to a twin size with large drawers under the mattress.  

I haven't attacked the night stand yet, but it will also be rebuilt!

Betty's Closet, you can also see a little of the old chest of drawers.   This was originally a standard 5' wide closet with two overlapping sliding doors.   Like most closets a lot of space was wasted in front of the clothes and above on the single shelf.
