Resaw Guide for Jet JWBS-14DXPRO
I resaw a whole lot of things like drawer backs and sides etc.
I originally had a Delta 14" BS with a riser block, carter guides, and a timber wolf 3/8" 3TPI blade which I really liked, but the saw ran a little rough and the table was hard to keep square with the blade (square enough for resawing).
So I bought a Jet 14" bandsaw with 12" (no riser), ball bearing guides and sold the Delta.
I had used a Kreg fence with a 7" resaw guide on the Delta but it didn't fit the Jet and the Jet came with a better fence (supported on both ends and a much smoother lock) but it's resaw guide was only about 4" high.
I really liked the Jet and it's fence but the resaw guide had to go, so I built a new resaw guide for the Jet.
The new guide would attach where the original did using the original 1/4-20 bolt and knob on the back of the fence with a tee nut in the back of the new guide. The guide would be a piece of 1/2" birch plywood, 37quot; high and 8" long as a backing plate with a tee nut for the hold down bolt. The vertical is a 1.25" dowel, 8-1/4" long (high). The vertical was undercut to provide a larger glue space to the backing plate. You must be very careful undercutting the dowel to make sure it is straight in line with the centerline of the dowel. Also be very careful when gluing the upright to the backing plate, everything must be as square as you can get it. A lot of the drawers had their backs and sides resawed using this guide.
I also tried the guide on a Kreg bandsaw fence and it works great, I like the round guide post a little better than the Kreg resaw guide's shape. Note the Kreg Bolt Holes in the diagram, use a 1/4-20 hex bolt with a knurled nut and it works great.

I drew a vertical line in the center of the dowel to check alignment with the blade. |
