Drawers

Slide center line drawn in main box.

Slide positioned in main box.

Note at the same time I'm putting felt pads on the corners of boxes.   This bed will be on a laminate foor and I put pads on everything on a laminate floor.

Main box front with all slides mounted.

Drawer fronts, backs and sides resawed and planed from 2x10s.

Drawer back and side in the dovetail jig ready to cut.   This is a one-pass cut, both back and side cut at the same time.

Here you can see the rabbets (on left) cut in back and side for the drawer bottom.

Single pass dovetails cut into back and side.

Closer look at back/side dovetails, you can also see the side's bottom rabbet a little better.   Doevtail joints consist of two different cuts, dovetail pins (toward back of pic) the side has what is called dovetail tails (toward front of pic).   With this jig I can cut both pins and tails in a single setup.

Drawer test fit after dovetailing.

Dovetails test fit between side and front.   You can see how the rabbet allows an overhang to hide the slides.

Drawer back, side and fronts all dovetailed.

The test fit from the right side.

Drawer Fronts

Drawer front upper and lowers slotted for biscuits.

Two drawer fronts being edge joined.

Drawer fronts in dovetail jig.

Closer look at drawer front in dovetail jig, ready to cut dovetails.

Dovetails cut into edge of drawer front.   You can see the rabbet on the right that doesn't need dovetails.

2nd edge being dovetail, you can see the first dovetailed edge sticking out.   Also note the rabbet that hides the slides.

Drawer frame glued.

Drawer bottoms.

Bottoms glued in for of the drawers.
