Delta Drill Press Chuck Key Holder

I had a Rockwell Delta drill press I purchased in about 1965, it was old but worked well, for it's age, but I decided to get a more modern drill press that had neat features like a crank to adjust the height of the table, and a light so I decided to buy a new Delta drill press.   When I got it home I realized that sometime over the years, Delta had omitted something I had grown quite fond of, a boss with a drilled hole to hold the chuck key.   I thought about it for a little while and came up with using a nylon tie wrap attached under a bolt to hold my new chuck key.

BTW, the Delta lasted about 3-1/2 years then a pin holding in a bushing inside the Reeves Drive wallowed out, and Delta doesn't make or sell parts anymore, so I had to get another DP, this time a Jet.   I added a key holder to the Jet-17.

Heres the front of the drill press, note the chuck key in the tie wrap loop attached to a bolt, on the lower right of the switch.

From the front without the key.   Its just a cable tie I got a Lowes and an existing bolt.   But it is every so handy.

With the chuck key.   Its handy and not in the way of anything.

Its a DP350 Drill Press

A shot of the entire drill press on what I call my multi-bench.

Closer look at the Jet-17 key holder.   Instead of using an existing bolt (there wasn't one available) I used a stick-on cable mount with a cable tie.
