It ocurred to me that I needed a place to store the turrets (and dies) hence, I came up with this wooden rack for turret storage for the RCBS turret press.   The dies go all the way through the turrets and have fragile things like depriming pins sticking out the bottom, and adjustment screws on the top, so they must be supported by their edges.   I chose a 9 turret version (I have 8) but, obviously it could be made for any number.   There is a pic at the end of a 2 X 3 (6 turret) version.   Here is my page on making a Pro2000 Die and Shell Plate rack.   And the page on my slot cutting jig I used to make these racks.

The two center verticals are 2x6 which is 1-1/2" thick.   You can resaw these to 1" thick which cuts the overall width down by 1" to make it 17"   To see examples of how to do this, please see my dieplate and shellplate rack page.   Pics of a 2 X 2 rack being constructed.

Please note, in the dimensions below, the vertical spacing between turrets includes the Hornady powder die, this could be reduced by 1" if you didn't use one.   If you use Hornady seater dies you will need to keep the 1", because they are taller than RCBS seater dies.

Dieplates and shellplates for the Pro2K   I will probably cut the turret rack down to 3 slots since thats all I'm using now, (the one with all the resizer/decapper dies is on the press when this pic was taken).   I need to put the back and top on the plate rack.
More on this later.

A 2 X 2 rack, verticals glued to base.   Kyle is beginning to load and only needs 9mm and 357 SIG, so I built him a 2X2 rack.

The 2 X 2 ready to sand and paint.   As with all racks of this kind, I use 3/16" plywood for the top and back.

2 X 2 being painted, back and bottom.   You can see the wallboard screws (along with glue) holding the 3 verticals.

Finished 2 X 2 rack.   Note medicine bottles with shellholders and seater plugs for each caliber.
